Rama on Tuesday hailed Vucic’s initiative to address Serbia’s relations with Kosovo through ‘internal dialogue’ - but said that the only solution could be the recognition of Kosovo’s independence, which Belgrade rejects.

"However, when I put myself in Aleksandar’s shoes, I realise that this is easier said than done," Rama said in an interview with the Serbian daily Blic.

He said he was "moved" when he an article by Vucic, published in Blic on July 24, in which the Serbian president called for an internal dialogue about Serbia’s relations with Kosovo.

"Reading those lines, I could feel true pain and impressive resolve... After that first step, Aleksandar continued very bravely to develop a vision for the future of Serbia and Kosovo," Rama said.

Asked about Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic’s recent proposal for dividing up what belongs to Serbs and Albanians in Kosovo in order to normalise relations, Rama argued that this would not be practical.

He also claimed that relations between Albania and Serbia are "better than ever before".

Talk about it!
